Despite being unemployed and underemployed, living at home, competing in a crowded talent pool, and carrying student debt through a turbulent economy, the Millennials remain civic minded, committed to volunteering, focused on being a good parent, consistent nonprofit donators, and devoted to change the world. The general consensus of twenty-somethings in America are that they are immature, narcissistic, and entitled. While those labels may be true in some cases (but what generation ever escaped these labels?), the below statistics defy those preconceived negative beliefs and expose the Millennials as the most generous, educated, and civic minded generation since the Greatest Generation.
It still shocks me how many people continue to insist on focusing on the shortcomings of the Millennial generation versus building on the Millennial’s unique talents and aspirations to move their organizations and teams forward.
